Prayers Please

Thanks for all of the prayers....I'm playing the waiting game now and I hope to know something early next week. I don't feel that it went that well but I'm the hardest person on myself!!! I'll let you know! Again, thanks for all the prayers!

Tomorrow at 1:45pm I have an teacher interview with Ottawa Area Center (OAC). For those of you who don't know I have been a para-pro for them for the past two years and I have worked three summers as a teacher. I feel that this is really where God is calling me to be! OAC is kind of the reason I went back to get my special ed. endorsement! So please pray! I would really like to have my own room in the fall!!!!!!

Reading

On Tuesday Courtney and Allie came over to babysit Morgan! I think they had fun!! :)

Ottawa County Fair

Monday night we went to the fair. Morgan went to the Hudsonville Fair last year but she was only a month old. This time it was a lot more fun and she actually stayed awake!! We went and watched some of the demolition derby! We had great seats (thanks Kendall & Rachael) Morgan got sick of that so we decided to go walking! We looked at the farm animals. She enjoyed the goats (no Steve, we still don't want yours!) and the cows. Well, all but Nick's cow (Neal's cousin) Nick was walking his cow around the pasture and Nick walked it over by us, the cow came close to Morgan and then mooed at her! Instant tears!!! After walking around and seeing all the weird carnie people, we went back and watched the derby. At the end of the derby they had a truck blow flames to start two cars on fire!!! Morgan didn't want her ears covered at first and it wasn't too loud right away so once she saw the flames she was amazed and sat so still! It was so cool!!! Enjoy the clip!!! In the words of Neal "It's Boss!"

Morgan enjoying the Derby!

Eating her first elephant ear! She loved it!!!!

Checking out the goats with Daddy!

1 Years Old

Our little baby has turned 1! It is so amazing to me how quickly this year has gone. I still remember the day she was born like it was yesterday. We are so happy that we have a happy and healthy 1 year old. Morgan went to the doctor on Thursday. Everything looked good. She weighs 22.6 lbs and is 29.5 inches long.

Our little princess a year ago!
Our princess today!
  • Morgan is working the top two first molar teeth. She has been a tad bit crabby. However, I would probably be crabby too! She has slept better the past two nights so hopefully we are about done with those two.
  • She continues to babble. We are working on family names (Uncle Travis, Eddie & Aunt Marcy, Megan). Dr. Locke wants her to know 8 new words by the time she goes back in October!
  • She still is taking a few steps at a time but nothing consistent. My dad even tried bribing her with food to walk to him!
  • She loves being outside!!!!!!

Neal & I are so thankful for a happy and healthy little girl. We thank God for each day that we have with her! We also thank our friends and family that have helped us and supported us this past year. We know that we couldn't have done it without you!

1st Birthday!!

Uncle Travis & Aunt Marcy had their own private party with Morgan on Friday night. They had a wedding on Saturday so they weren't able to make the party on Saturday!!

I can't believe that our baby is almost 1. We had Morgan's birthday party on Saturday night. We had 18 family and friends over for supper, presents & cake! It was a lot of fun and Morgan really enjoyed it. Morgan got a lot of nice presents!!! Many new fall outfits and shoes!! :) Some new toys too!!!! We are very thankful for everything!!!!
Thanks again everyone! Morgan is truly blessed to have each of you in her life (Neal & I too!!)

Morgan's new soccer ball from "Uncle" BJ & "Aunt" Tami! Neal says thanks!! :)

Still Available!!!

Still available...any takers???

Dentist Visit

Morgan needed to take her first trip to the dentist today!!! Not by choice!! Last night she decided to stand up (nothing new) except she fell right into the changing table. Neal & I just sat there and watched in horror...it was like slow motion! For some reason everything they say to do...I actually did. I stayed calm...give directions to Neal (who was still reliving what just happened) and put a cold wash cloth on it. She had blood from her lip and from her tooth. She cracked/chipped part of her tooth. So I called our friend Denise (a dental hygienist) and we discussed what we should do (since it was 10:15pm). Morgan had stopped crying and was actually laughing with Neal while she was looking in the mirror (I would laugh at Neal too!!!) Denise said call the dentist in the morning...I did that and he recommended seeing a ped. dentist and since my cousin works at one I called her.

We went in. The dentist looked at her tooth and took an x-ray. Everything looks fine...they were worried that it harmed the permanent tooth but it looked ok...there is a 35% chance that there could be a blemish. So we are very thankful there wasn't anything more serious!

So tonight every time she stands or walks, Neal & I both FREAK out!!!! Can we put her in a bubble or at least give her a helmet??????

Free!!!!

Ok...I'm not one to encourage Neal to stop and pick up "FREE" things at the side of the road however, Sunday when we headed home from the lake there was this on the side of the road!!!!

A walker....I know what your thinking...not a safe thing for Morgan. My grandma had one at her house for Morgan and she loved it. She wasn't too sure of it at first but now she enjoys running after Boomer with it!!!!!! This way I kind of can keep track of her and I can get things done in the kitchen!!! :)

First Boat Ride

Sunday we spent the afternoon on my parents' boat with my parents and brother & sister-n-law. This was Morgan first ride and I was a little worried but she did awesome!!! We put the boat in by Douglas and then sat in the cove by Lake Michigan. It was so much fun. Morgan took a nap on the way to Douglas but wouldn't take an afternoon nap (which she really needed but she didn't want to miss anything!) She played in the water, saw a couple of dogs (her favorite) and crawled/walked around the boat! We decided to take a ride out to Lake Michigan and she fell asleep. Not sure how she managed that...it was really rough! Hopefully we will be able to do this some more this summer! Thanks Mom & Dad!

Just looking sitting by Grandma

Playing in the water and sand. She wasn't too sure of this
Being goofy with Daddy!
Eating Goldfish on our way out to the big lake.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!!! We are so thankful for the freedom that we have!
This is the best picture I could get of Morgan. She just doesn't sit still anymore!!!
Morgan had a pretty eventful day (considering we had no power!) We were suppose to have people come over to our house and in the afternoon when we figured the power wasn't going to come on, Neal's boss called and said we could move the party to his house. We had a great time and enjoyed the longest firework show ever!!! Don't get too excited...there was a long delay between each one....it was a fun time though!!!! Morgan cried when the first one went but after that she fell asleep!
Morgan with "Uncle" Adam...this is what he wants you to think...but deep down we know he wants some little ones running around!!!!!

For some reason when "Uncle" BJ is around it always leads Morgan to play with alcohol...the bottle, the box...she was wearing it on her head but we weren't quick enough with the camera!!!!

No Power

The third time in a month that we have been without power. This time was the longest (2 1/2 days!) We have lost power more in the past month than we have since we lived here! Not fun!!!!! You don't realize how many things you need power for (showers, toaster, stove, vaccuum, laundry.....)

Thursday morning I called my babysitter that comes to our house to let her know what was going on. She didn't really want to come (and I don't blame her!) so I called into work and stayed home with Morgan. Well we really didn't stay home. My grandparents are camping in Zeeland so we went and visited them. I needed a shower too!!! Grandma even took us out for lunch!!!!!
Morgan playing with Great Grandpa!
Morgan with Aunt Sarah.

Morgan being loved by cousin Jake. She isn't loved at all!!!!

This one is for you Uncle Eddie! No dolls...give me a tractor and don't walk through my field!!!!!!

Yesterday we went for breakfast hoping it would come back on since we were having people over for the fourth! No such luck!!! We ended up moving our party to Neal's boss' house. Our power came on at 8:19pm when we were almost ready to leave!!! Let's just say Kent heard my excitement over the phone!! I was so excited to be able to go to the bathroom in the light!!!!!!!!!!!!!
