Extreme Home Makeover LIVE!!!!

I have been keeping a secret since Friday. I know some of you are completely shocked by this!!! I actually am too!!! The BIG secret was that my students and co-workers would be attending Extreme Home Makeover in Lansing as VIPs. I was pumped. I do have to be honest, I have maybe watched the show once or twice but was pretty geeked to be seeing it live in action. The old house was knocked down yesterday at lunchtime and when we arrived they were beginning to put on the 2nd floor. When we left they had the 2nd floor complete, were put windows in, trusses up and they were hoping to shingle yet today!!! The crew work for 6 hours at a time throughout the night and have a house done in 4 1/2 days!!! WOW, wish when we were building it went this fast!! We did see Ty Pennington, Michael Moloney and Rib Hillis! One of my students is a faithful watcher and got to be on the radio and received a picture of all the designers and their autographs! It was awesome!!! The home will air sometime in November and you can bet I will be watching! A big thank you to my supervisor that got us in!!!

The security guy (Robert) in the blue looked like Hulk Hogan. He was really funny too! He has been workign security for 2 years and is from North Carolina!!
The house when we got there!
Where everyone stays!

The house when we were leaving! So amazing how quickly everything went together!

Zeeland East-Hamilton Game

Wow!!! What a great game. I don't think that I have ever seen a game as good as this. Both teams could have won and it went into over time with Hamilton winning. You would have thought this was a play-off game since it was a full house plus there were two different tv crews there and it was the game of the week. The game lived up to all the talk! Two 4-0 teams-who both deserve a ton of credit! Morgan was so excited she fell asleep in the middle of the third quarter...just when it was getting good and she slept through the yelling, the jumping and clapping! Wish I could sleep like that!!!!

Morgan also enjoyed going to the homecoming parade with Grandma. She got to wave at Grandpa in the big truck and saw Allison & Calvin (my cousins) in the parade too! She also got a TON of candy. It helped we were standing right at the beginning of the parade!!!

How sad is this...the only picture we took at the parade and if you can tell, the parade was alredy done! Plus, Morgan thought she would cover her mouth! Love it!!!

Tonight, Neal's team beat Grand Haven 27-0! So I had to make brownies for the team!! That also means that Neal keeps the facial hair for another week! The team did really well!!! So it was fun to watch them win again!!!! Go job Chix!

Priceless...Daddy's number one fan!

Bath in the sink!

Lately I have been giving Morgan a bath in the sink. I don't remember doing this as a child but Neal does! Morgan still doesn't enjoy it like I thought most kids would. She has been getting better about taking a shower with me too! So maybe there is hope that she will enjoy bath time yet!!!!

Love the hair!

It looks like she is happy but she was really crying!

Being Naughty! and going Boom!

I'm not sure why but Morgan loves to crawl on top of the end table and play with the lights. We are constantly getting after her for it. Yet, she keeps getting back up there!Thursday night while we were waiting for Neal to get done with practice Morgan was walking around by the field. She kind of tripped and fell onto the cement. I didn't think too much of it, she cried a little but that was it. Later that night her nose was really red but she has been having allergic reactions to Polyester (we think) and she was having one that night too! So we blamed it on that. However, Friday morning it was all scrapped and Friday after work it was even worse! Now she has big scraps on her nose! Poor girl!

Number 30

Yes, in Morgan's short life she has already been to 30 football games!!! Number 30 was an exciting one! She got to wear her new outfit and support her Daddy!!! Neal did win 27-14 which was really cool! At half time, Morgan and I walked down to see Neal. When he finally spotted us, I let Morgan down and she walked across the field to him. It was so cute, of course the camera was down at the other end of the field! I'm sure we will get many more uses out of this!!!
Morgan was more interested in the boys playing football on the other side of the fence! Go figure! She is keeping me on my toes this season. No sitting!

Daddy's little fan and one proud Daddy!

My project

A few weeks ago in the middle of the night I woke up with an idea!! Football season was starting soon and I couldn't find a shirt Morgan's size so she could wear it for Neal's game. So, I got this brainy idea that I would make Morgan a cheerleading outfit. I asked my aunt and grandma to help me. (THANK YOU TO YOU BOTH FOR YOUR HELP!!!!) I can do small sewing projects but with bigger things I need help. So for the past two Mondays we have been working on her outfit. Tonight I finished it and I'm happy to say...I actually like it!!!! I'm so pumped for her to wear it! If it wasn't so late she probably would be wearing it right now...but for now I'll have to wait! I will make sure I take a picture of her on Wednesday night! Go CHIX!!!!!

14 months? Can it be? How come our little baby just keeps getting bigger and bigger! I know it is life but I just wish it would slow down!!!! Morgan is such a joy to have in our lives and we are so thankful! It is amazing to us the personality that she is getting and the things that she is learning!!!! We continue to work on words (since she needs to know how many by next month??)! She has master going up and down stairs much to Neal's disliking (I think he has a few more gray hairs!) Today she tried to walk down them...didn't quite work but Neal was there to quickly catch her!!! She loves to watch the cows and chase Boomer around the house. She also loves to walk and loves to hear her shoes make noise on the floor!!!! We just can't get enough of her!!!

What we've been doing

I haven't posted in a while (besides birthday wishes!) So I thought I better post something! We have been staying very busy with school and football. Morgan has adjusted well to being back with the sitters. This fall she is blessed to be able to spend time with her great grandmas, her cousins and Neal's cousin's sister-n-law. We are so thankful that she is in great hands while we are at work! I'm also thankful that I don't have to drive as much this year!!

Morgan and I have been staying busy while Neal is coaching and scouting. His first game is Wednesday and we will be occupied with that too! Tonight (depending on the weather), Morgan and I are going to attend Zeeland East's football game. (Go CHIX!!!!) So that should be fun. Morgan and I went to Hamilton's games for the past two weeks with my parents. Neal is headed to Holland Christain!

Morgan received this for her birthday from Grandpa & Grandma V. She is really starting to enjoy it now. She will climb on it or pull it around the house!
While I was trying to blog I turned and saw this. Animal crackers all over the floor. Boomer liked the treat!!!
